Irakli Chikovani, Advisor to the Prime Minister, stated at the briefing of the Government Administration on July 8 that Georgia will unconditionally open the border with 5 EU member states, namely:
• Germany;
• France;
• Latvia;
• Lithuania;
• Estonia.
Unconditional opening means that the citizens of above-mentioned countries will be able to make all kinds of visits to Georgia through direct air traffic. If they have a temperature of more than 37 degrees Celsius at the airport, they will be tested for PCR.
As for the citizens of the countries that introduced Georgia to the so-called In the green list and imposed various restrictions, they will be able to enter Georgia on the condition of a 14-day quarantine. However, these individuals will pay for the quarantine themselves.
The following countries have expressed readiness to open borders by imposing specific restrictions: Italy, Cyprus, Iceland and Slovenia, so those arriving in this country must pass a 14-day mandatory quarantine.
At this stage, the following countries do not open borders for Georgia: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Norway, Malta, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
At the same time, in order to promote economic activity in Georgia, business trips from all countries will be carried out smoothly by filling out the relevant form in advance and agreeing with the relevant sectoral agency.
Visitors to Georgia on a business trip are required to take a PCR test on Covid19 with their own funds every 72 hours, or to complete a mandatory 14-day quarantine, as well as their own funds.
Naturally, this does not apply to the citizens / residents of the 5 EU member states with whom Georgia unconditionally opens its borders.
As for the citizens of Georgia, they must go through a 14-day quarantine on their return home after visiting the European Union for any purpose.
Relevant electronic forms, which will have to be filled in advance by the citizens of the above-mentioned EU countries, as well as those carrying out any business visit, will be available on the website specially created by the Government of Georgia www.StopCov.ge
